WWE developmental talents Harry Smith and Ryan Wilson (Jacob Duncan from OVW, Trytan in TNA) were backstage at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings. Another wrestler by the name of Mike Jarri was backstage at the tapings as well. He appeared on a Wrestling Legends PPV last year, showing up at the end of a Jimmy Snuka vs. Greg Valentine match under the ring name DNA. Jimmy Hart introduced Jarri to John Laurinaitis. He is going to be evaluated at the WWE developmental camp in Tampa in a few weeks. Jarri is 6'11" and at least 350 pounds, and thus he has the kind of look that WWE sweats over.
It was reported earlier in the week that there was interest within WWE in regards to bringing Paul Heyman back to television. It is now coming out that Heyman's name was tossed out by Vince McMahon at a recent creative meeting to gauge a response. However, there hasn't been any communication between the two sides regarding a possible return. Heyman is still under contract to WWE, but he bides his time by working on developing outside entertainment projects.
Trish Stratus will be appearing at this year's NHL Awards show to honor the best of the 2006-07 hockey season. The show will take place from the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto on Thursday, June 14 at 7 PM/ET on VERSUS (CBC for Canada).
