- Vince McMahon had previously nixed the “blowing up” angle, but apparently felt pressure from Bonnie Hammer and the USA Network to bolster WWE’s sluggish ratings. The original plan for the angle was to write out the Mr. McMahon character.
- The company was quite pleased and initially with the angle, and thought that this could turn the company around.
- When Bret Hart agreed to do the Appreciation night segment, he had no idea the show would conclude with Mr. McMahon’s limo being “blown up.”
- Much of the talent featured during the McMahon appreciation segments on RAW were contacted late in the week about appearing on the show.
