Edge, who relinquished the WWE World champion tonight at the Smackdown taping, will require surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle he suffered at the New Orleans Smackdown taping last week. He is tenatively expected out of the ring for four months, which would put him in line for a November in-ring return.

Definetly a big blow for SmackDown. I wonder how it will effect the ratings.

sux for sure, Edge was a good champ, one of the best SD had lately, and now Khali has the title, what a disgrace for SD... wtf is wrong with Vince is what I want to know?

That belt is cursed! All the good champs get taken out while Cena is safe with his belt for eternity!? SD has just lot ALOT of fans...

Really lousy break for Edge and for Smackdown! The decision to put the belt on Khali is beyond contempt! This better be a really short reign, with the title going to Kane until Edge/ Undertaker return to the Ring!
It really sucks. I'm going to a smackdown/ecw show in september and Edge was one of the guys we were really looking forward to seeing.
And giving the title to Khali???? What the hell were they thinking!?

This truly sucks for Edge and SD sense I finally thought he might actually get a lengthy title run. He will get another chance thou.
