Phil Spector's daughter, Nicole, has taken the witness stand during the music producer's murder trial.

But during her testimony, the judge stopped questioning that suggested Mr Spector was an attentive father.

The 24-year-old revealed how her father was right-handed, which the defence team claims helps prove that he did not shoot actress Lana Clarkson.

Mr Spector's lawyers claim that Ms Clarkson, who was found dead at his home in 2003, committed suicide.

'Depression'

Computer experts, who had been asked to extract and analyse thousands of e-mails from Ms Clarkson's computer, also gave evidence.

They told the court said it had been impossible to obtain all of the actress's e-mails from an older model of laptop.

The sheriff's computer analyst, Thomas Fortier, said he was able to complete a search for the keywords murder, depression and suicide.

Mr Fortier told the court he found one message which had used the word "depression" on 25 October 2002.

In the e-mail Clarkson wrote to a friend: "The depression level I am experiencing makes me very spent and worn out."

Prosecutor Alan Jackson said: "And the word 'suicide' does not appear anywhere on Lana Clarkson's computer?"

"That's correct," Mr Fortier said.

Mr Spector, who pioneered the "Wall of Sound" recording technique in the 1960s, faces between 15 years and life in prison if convicted.
