Allen is the son of actor Keith Allen and producer Alison Owen
Alfie Allen, brother of pop star Lily and son of actor Keith, has landed a role in Casualty's 1900s spin-off.

The 20-year-old Londoner will play an East End gang member in Casualty 1907 - a three-part series following on from last December's pilot, Casualty 1906.

Cherie Lunghi and Sarah Smart will reprise their roles as nurses dealing with medical crises in London's East End one hundred years ago.

The BBC One programme, to be filmed in Liverpool, will be shown in the autumn.

Each episode uses actual case notes, ward reports, autopsy records and diaries from the archives of the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.

Allen - son of film producer Alison Owen - will also be seen shortly opposite Keira Knightley in Atonement, the film version of the Ian McEwan novel.

His other films include Elizabeth, produced by his mother, and Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London, directed by his uncle Kevin.

Lily Allen wrote a song about her brother that features on her hit 2006 album Alright, Still.

In the video for the track, entitled Alfie, he is represented by a puppet.
