Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion & TNA X-Division Champion, Jerry Lynn, was one of the special guests on this past week's live edition (5/08/06) of Monday Night Mayhem radio show. Here are some of the highlights of the transcript of what he had to say:

Jerry was welcomed to the show by The Big Mosh & Blade, as “Your Home Of Wrestling Radio” was putting its finishing touches on their first road trip to Orlando, FL for TNA’s Sacrifice PPV. Mosh, Blade, & Jerry started the interview with some discussion on the returning Extreme Championship Wrestling, coming off of the heels of Tommy Dreamer’s first televised match in almost one year. Despite what some in the business might think, Jerry delivered a strong message -- “This is great. Hopefully it will work, that it should’ve still been in business, and its going to be great a thing for the guys.“ Jerry strongly believes that if there is considerable WWE input, then “it will be doomed to fail -- just like at last year’s One Night Stand.” Jerry does not feel that this is a slap in the face to the true ECW fans, but in Vince McMahon’s head, he still thinks that he can still make money in this -- and hopefully he will, so that everyone can get a piece of the pie.

The interview shifted gears to the topic of the finals of TNA’s World X- Cup, which will conclude at the Sacrifice PPV. Jerry said he is really excited about what will be happening at the Pay-Per-View, especially with the Jushin “Thunder” Liger/Petey Williams match.

Blade & Mosh addressed the heavily-rumored heat between Jerry & Juvetund Guerrera, and what the chances of seeing him back in TNA, now that he is no longer with the WWE. Jerry laughed and made reference that there is indeed heat -- “strong heat.“ Jerry said that Guerrera injured him very badly, and he was out for almost a year. And that my friends could very well be the tip of the iceberg between the two of them!

Mosh brought up “Mr. Money In The Bank” himself, Rob Van Dam, and how the WWE has pushed him throughout the year so far to date, and appear to be doing so even more with the upcoming return of the new ECW. Jerry has respected RVD throughout his career, and thinks he has been doing absolutely great things since his return. He has the ball right now and will take it as far as the company will let him. Unfortunately, there will be “zero chance” of seeing him against Van Dam at One Night Stand II for obvious reasons -- not to mention he was never contacted by the WWE. He is still under contract to TNA, and the company was afraid of him “jumping over.“ Jerry also went on record by saying that he was indeed contacted for last year’s ECW One Night Stand PPV, to replace the late Chris Candido whom was wrestling Calgary’s own & former two-time guest of The Mayhem, Lance Storm. Jerry once again wanted to re-iterate that if Paul Heyman & Tommy Dreamer book ECW the way that it should be booked, then & only then can RVD can be the “center man of attention and the guy who can carry the brand.”

For more of Jerry’s uncensored thoughts on his return to the former ECW Arena (and his Hardcore War match vs. Petey Williams), his takes on whether or not Jim Cornette will be a good fit for TNA, if CM Punk could be a breakout star for the new ECW, the chances of seeing him in Ring Of Honor before the end of the year, the pending return of “The Charismatic Enigma” to the WWE, & much more, check out the entire 35+ minute interview. Remember fans, Jerry did call Paul Heyman a shi*t-hole on The Mayhem’s airwaves back in 2002. Has Jerry patched things up with “the evil genius” since then? The only way you can find out is by listening in!
