In what they are claiming is a cost-cutting measure, WWE is apparently no longer going to be putting name plates on the championship belts.

I would love to know how much one of them cost and how much money this is going to make a difference. I mean seriously, over the last 2 years the titles have not changed to much and when they have changed they were to people who would have already had a name plate.

I say this has more to do with. The fact is if someone loses their title and the name doesn't change for the new champ, that pretty much means that the new champion isn't going to be holding the belt for very long. I can't see how the price of a name plate could be setting the WWE back that much, but I don't know how much they cost. I personal don't think it really matters if the champions name is on it.

Let me put it this way... to get an actual belt made of an existing one, then it can cost you a couple thousand. The nameplate? It costs fifty bucks. That's coming from the actual company that makes belts for the WWE. So I think they are being stupid to take the nameplates off belts.
