Kylie Minogue underwent surgery for breast cancer last May
Kylie Minogue is continuing to receive treatment for breast cancer, despite reports that she is completely free of the disease, her publicist has said.
The pop star began treatment last May, when surgery to remove a cancerous lump from her breast was successful.
"Fortunately we are still able to say we have received no news of a reoccurrence of the cancer," the singer's spokesman said.
"However at this point in time Kylie's treatments are continuing."
Tour rescheduled
Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer last May, postponing an Australian tour and cancelling a Glastonbury Festival headline appearance as a result.
Following her surgery in Melbourne the 37-year-old has undergone regular treatment to prevent a return of the cancer.
Last November her tour promoter Michael Gudinski announced Minogue would perform in Australia at the end of 2006.
"Kylie remains keen to return to work and in particular to reschedule the Showgirl tour of Australia," her spokesman said on Friday.
Minogue rose to fame in the 1980s as an actress in popular soap opera Neighbours before launching a pop career, securing 37 hit singles in the UK.
Breast cancer is the primary cause of cancer death among Australian women, and second only to lung cancer in the US

It seems a little strange that although kylie has gooten the ok about her breat cancer being in remission that she is still continuing with the treatments.I hope this is just a precaution and nothing more serios.
