Mark Henry has had a change of heart and he would like to stay in WWE after his ten year contract expires later this year. Henry has been getting some big paydays as of late, particularly for the Royal Rumble, and he will likely get a big payday for his match at Wrestlemania. He will earn far more than his base pay this year. These big paydays have changed his tune and now he wants to stay, especially considering that they are pushing him as a top guy now because Smackdown has such little depth.
Before his recent return, he wasn't too interested in staying around after his contract expired. He figured he gave it ten years, not to mention that WWE had little interest in keeping him. Henry is well off financially because he's invested his money well since getting the big contract in 1996.
Also, the ten year contract he signed in 1996 was for $250,000 a year, not one million a year like many people have thought. So at the very least, Henry has made $2.5 million over the course of ten years.
