MOOLAH IS LAID TO REST, UPDATES ON NICK HOGAN, TEDDY HART, RODDY PIPER, WWE PPV VENUE CHANGES NAME & MORE

WTLX channel 19 in South Carolina reported that Stephanie McMahon was a speaker at the Fabulous Moolah's funeral today. You can read channel 19's coverage below

(Columbia) - Family and friends filled the Dunbar Funeral Home Wednesday, as the Fabulous Moolah, whose real name was Lillian Ellison, was laid to rest.

Ellison's nephew and the preacher at the Alpine Baptist Church spoke at the service, as well as Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, the daughter of Vince McMahon, Jr.

Moolah stands as one of the legends in professional wrestling. She spent more than 50 years in the business, held the world championship for more than 30 years, including the last time at age 76.

She achieved her greatest acclaim as a member of the WWF (later the WWE).

Crying could be heard from Ellison's relatives, but family members also laughed at old stories about her. In one story, her preacher told of how Ellison had re-earned his respect by demonstrating a wrestling move on him at 76 years old.

Ellison was buried at a ceremony in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetary following the funeral service.

Hulk Hogan's son Nick was released this afternoon after his parents posted a $10,000 bond. Nick's arrest has been picked up nationally by the Associated Press.

The Continental Airlines Arena, which has hosted several Summerslam events, including this past August's PPV, was officially renamed the IZOD Center as of 10/31. A banner was hung this past August in honor of WWE drawing one million fans to events at the venue during their live events in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Teddy Hart has relocated back to Canada from Florida now that he's no longer under a WWE developmental deal. Hart got a huge electric reaction for his return to Jersey All Pro Wrestling at their tenth anniversary event in Rahway, NJ two weeks ago.

Roddy Piper will be doing a Piper's Pit segment on 11/17 at the EWF show in Marion, Indiana. For more information, visit www.EWFWrestling.com.

The Beaumont Journal in Texas features a short story on former WCW and WWE World champion Booker T's PWA promotion below

Wrestling event will entertain, benefit youth

Pro wrestling superstar "Booker T." and the Pro Wrestling Alliance (P.W.A.) will present "Bash at Beaumont" at the Ford park Exhibit Hall on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. This marks the first time that the P.W.A. has come to Beaumont. The P.W.A. was created by Booker T and his wife, Sharmell Huffman, and is an organization that produces family-oriented professional wrestling events.

Booker T. is one of the most decorated athletes in sports entertainment history, as evidenced by his having won more than 36 major titles in professional wrestling (including six world championships).

Booker T, while looking for a way to strengthen the connection with his hometown, opened a wrestling academy/organization in Houston. The P.W.A. gives men and women from all backgrounds a chance to realize their dreams of becoming a professional wrestler.

Booker T. has also created an outlet for at-risk youth through the "Booker T Fights for Kids"Foundation. All of the proceeds from the P.W.A. wrestling events go to support the Fights for Kids Foundation.

The foundation's immediate goal is to build a 24-hour community center for kids. This community center will feature the latest in multimedia technology and recreational activities. The youth that attend will be engaged in sporting and learning activities to provide an alternative to the negativities commonly found in the streets of the inner city.

The P.W.A. is also available as a fund-raising vehicle for secondary schools as well as youth organizations in the Greater Houston Area.

Ticket prices for "Bash at Beaumont" are $23 and are available online at www.ticketmaster. com or www.fordparktx. com
