The SPICE GIRLS have dismissed reports of a bitter chart battle between themselves and singer LEONA LEWIS, insisting they "aren't bothered" if they are beaten to the top of the album charts by the pop newcomer.

The reunited Wannabe stars released their Greatest Hits LP on Monday (12Nov07) - the same day as The X Factor winner Lewis dropped her debut album, Spirit.

But the Nineties pop group insist they are more focused on their forthcoming world tour than winning the top chart spot.

A source close to the band says, "The girls like Leona and aren't overly bothered whether (their album) goes to No. 2 or No. 3 in the charts. They see the Greatest Hits more as a souvenir for the tour and something that's going to be bought for Christmas presents."
