- WWE's SmackDown is now in sixth place all-time in most prime time episodes behind Gunsmoke, Lassie, Death Valley Days, Ozzie & Harriet and Bonanza. With 409 episodes, SmackDown will be #3 at the end of 2008.
- MMA fighter and former NFL player Bob Sapp is close to reaching a deal with WWE, sources say. The deal being discussed will only have Sapp appearing on WWE's Japan live events in February.
WWE has lost some bankability with the Japanese fans and wants to bolster its shows with a proven Japanese draw. Negotiations to bring Sapp into WWE for a full-time role have not advanced.
