BAIL BREACH: Millie Elder is back in court after breaching her bail conditions.
A defiant Millie Elder has appeared in court on three alleged breaches of bail.
The 19-year-old appeared in Auckland District Court this morning after being arrested on Tuesday. Her mother, Hine Elder, was in court for the appearance. Her father, broadcaster Paul Holmes, was not present.
The former model appeared to mouth an obscenity at Crown Solicitor Kristin Lummis during the court appearance.
An off-duty police officer alleges he saw Ms Elder drinking at a party at Sky City at the weekend. She was in the company of a woman who she is not allowed to associate with, under her bail conditions.
Her bail conditions also state that she must reside with her mother, Hine Elder, on Waiheke Island however police allege Ms Elder was staying with her now former partner in Auckland.
When police visited the home of her former partner they found utensils used for drug making, which he claimed belonged to Ms Elder. He also claimed Ms Elder continued using drugs while on bail.
She was bailed to her mother's house with a midnight to 7am curfew and is to reappear in court on February 21. Judge Philippa Cunningham said the curfew would be reviewed then, provided there were no further charges.
Outside court Ms Elder's lawyer, Jesse Soondram, said he doubted whether any new charges would be laid.
Millie denied the drug-making utensils allegedly found in her former partner's house were hers and believed her fingerprints would not be found on them.
Last year Elder admitted drugs charges, including possessing methamphetamine, a pipe and allowing premises to be used for drugs.
The charges followed a police raid on her flat in the Auckland suburb of Ponsonby.
It was revealed that Elder, a model, developed a $1000 a day drug habit, after she began taking drugs three years ago.
In December her sentencing was delayed until March to allow her to continue her drug rehabilitation.
After her initial court appearance, her father said: "Millie is sick and she has a big hill to climb. If Millie has broken the law she must pay the consequences."
