- Although Shawn Michaels remains the favorite to wrestle Ric Flair in his retirement bout at Wrestlemania, Vince McMahon is said to have an issue with the fact that a new talent talent wouldn't be able to get the exposure by going over in such a monumental match.

Ok... so you want someone without an established wrestling career to retire the greatest wrestler of the past 30 years in Ric Flair??? Are you out of your mind McMahon?? I'm surprised that Vince doesn't just lace up the boots and do it himself...

HBK is one of the greatest of all time, i really expected orton as the legend killer to retire flair

Shawn, at this point in his career has nothing to gain by retiring Flair. Either it's going to be a young up comer like Mr. Kennedy in a No Way Out rematch, or Elijah Burke.

If Vince is going to give that honor to an established worker, it'll be HHH, or maybe.... maybe even Sting.

I'm hoping Kennedy does it.

There is less than a handful of people in WWE who should even be considered for the honor of ending Flair's career: HHH, HBK, or McMahon himself. The only other logically plausible person would be Sting, and he's obviously still in TNA.

Anyone other than those listed above would be an insult to Flair and his career.

I agree you would be doing a great injustice to have just anyone beat flair to end his career. I would have loved to see Ric vers Sting that would have been great

It doesn't ALWAYS have to be an "up and coming" wrestler in these roles, what with the lack of titles and amount of jobbing HBK's done recently i think he deserves the role. Plus we know he'd get a good match out of Flair. AND he could beat him with his new submission move. Hmmm.
