- TheCitizen.com has a new story on information from the report released yesterday that closed the Chris Benoit investigation. The report says Nancy Benoit told her friend Pam Clark that she “was concerned that Chris may be having an affair with one of the divas in the WWE” and she was upset that Chris “had been getting phone calls and would go outside to talk” and then avoid questions about the conversations.
- Variety has a new article on WWE's next film starring John Cena, 12 Rounds. The film has a $20 million budget and will be released by 20th Century Fox in 2009. The only confirmed co-star at this point is Steve Harris from The Practice, Bringing Down the House and Diary of a Mad Black Woman. We broke the story first last month that big names like Al Pacino, Method Man and Lou Diamond Phillips, among others, were set to be participating in the film.
- We reported yesterday that on Wednesday night, Rey Mysterio suffered what is believed to be a torn right bicepsin in a match in Santiago, Chile. Mysterio flew back to the U.S. to meet with Dr. James Andrews. He hasn't had an MRI done. His mentality right now is that at all costs, he does not want to miss Wrestlemania, so if surgery is recommended, he's going to have a major decision to make. We won't know about Sunday's PPV until after he sees Andrews and they determine the severity of the injury. They could have him show up and do an injury angle because there are no TV's left before No Way Out, where he was scheduled to face Edge for the World title. Surgery would put him out around six months.
