Rey Mysterio is scheduled to undergo surgery today to repair his torn biceps. Instead of working with WWE surgeon Dr. James Andrews, Mysterio has opted to undergo a new technique that will be performed by a surgeon in in San Diego, Californnia who has worked with the San Diego Chargers NFL team.
The rehabilitation time for this procedure is said to be as short as six weeks, whereas the traditional surgery he was originally slated to have performed by James Andrews would have kept him out of action for up to six months.
Rey pushed back the date of the surgery, which had been scheduled for last Friday, so that he could take part in the WrestleMania 24 press conference on Monday. Unfortunately for him, even a 6 week recovery time will keep him out of action for WrestleMania.
