- Jim Ross is back with more comments from his blog over at jrsbarbq.com. Here are some of the wrestling related highlights:
On Chris Benoit in the HOF: Assuming you are talking about Chris Benoit, my assumption would be "highly unlikely". That’s unfortunate too.
On WCW's War Games in WWE: As I have said here many times, I think a War Games theme would add sizzle to a PPV.
The Boogeyman update: Boogeyman is dealing with an injury, as I understand it. He will most likely be back when he is medically cleared.
On Finlay having a run with the World Title: Very likely but only time will tell. Finlay got a late start in the ring in the WWE but is a helluva fundamental hand.
The possibility of Ric Flair becoming an announcer: Could happen, but Ric will have a role in the WWE long after he is done as an active wrestler which might be later than some think.
On Hogan and Bischoff's new rumored project: As I understand it this is a reality based TV show, but I could be wrong. Their venture into touring, if that happens, won’t affect the WWE whatsoever. The talent roster available for them to utilize might be iffy.
Foley update and a retirement rumor: I don’t know what Mick’s plans are but his best wrestling days as it relates to the in-ring stuff are behind him. However, Mick has plenty to offer if a multitude of ways. I have heard zero of any Foley retirement plans.
On why WWE announcers have been more quiet as of late: The announcers are purposely and by design laying out more so the fans at home can hear more of the natural sounds that are provided by the wrestlers, etc.
On ECW: ECW of today is ECW in initials only. I watch it every week because I enjoy Styles and Tazz but also because of the younger guys who are featured. This particular ECW will never satisfy old school ECW fans and it is likely to never revert back to the "extreme style".
In response to comments on Y2J vs. JBL: It seems to have essentially run its course as JBL vs. Finlay seems to be on the horizon and Y2J is in the Money in the Bank Ladder match at WM24.
Chris Harris update: I have no idea what the plans are at this time for Chris Harris. I don’t even know if Chris Harris will make the "starting line-up". I wish him well but he has a great deal of hard work and an entirely different schedule and level of pressure awaiting him.
