WWE & Monday Night Mayhem Hall Of Famer, "The Mouth Of The South" Jimmy Hart, was one of the special guests on this past week's live edition (03/17/08) of Monday Night Mayhem (presented by Sweet Sunshine Sauces) -- which can be heard in streaming audio every week (hosted by The Big Mosh, Blade, & DFL and heard LIVE at 8PM ET/7PM CT every Monday night) exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network (MondayNightMayhem.com, OnlineWorldOfWrestling.com, & Tunes.com).

"The Mouth Of The South" can now be heard for FREE in Real Audio.

Here are some of the highlights from Jimmy's interview on the show, provided by The Mayhem's senior show correspondent, Dan Kriegbaum.

=======================

The Big Mosh, Blade, & DFL welcomed Jimmy Hart back to the program, becoming one of the very few members of the "five-time" club of guests in the history of "Your Home Of Wrestling Radio." Jimmy thanked The Mayhem Crew for the invitation, just days before "The Showcase Of The Immortals," WrestleMania XXIV. Jimmy started off by saying he's looking forward to digging out some of the old music for the "WrestleMania Kickoff" event this Thursday (March 27th), when the WWE hosts the "WrestleMania Rocks The Block" concert. He mentioned Hillbilly Jim, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, & Jerry "The King" Lawler as some of the names participating in the event.

Mosh mentioned the huge weekend line-up, not only for World Wrestling Entertainment, but for TNA & Ring Of Honor as well -- all taking place throughout the weekend of WrestleMania XXIV, and asked Jimmy how excited he is to see how it will all take shape. Jimmy stated that he always looks forward to WrestleMania, but the weekend will be great for the fans, as the "other companies" capitalize off of WrestleMania being in Orlando.

With the WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremonies happening next weekend, Mosh asked Jimmy for his thoughts & rememberances on his own induction a few years back. Jimmy said that Jim Ross called him to ask if he wanted to be inducted, and added that he asked JR if he meant to call Bret "Hitman" Hart instead. Jimmy also said that he loved the fact he was inducted with a bunch of the names that he spent most of his time with in the WWE, with Hulk Hogan & "Rowdy" Roddy Piper among others -- including "two of his favorite singers," Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik.

Jimmy then went on to say that 24 years ago, Vince McMahon had a dream. While, like most everyone, he had a lot of doubters, and while a lot of people have come & gone, Vince stuck to it and here he is 24 years later.

In regards to some of Jimmy's favorite moments & memories in wrestling in Florida & Orlando, Jimmy named a select few -- one of which occurred in WCW, when Hulk Hogan & "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair squared off, and Shaquille O' Neal & Mr. T were both in attendance at ringside. Another time was when he came down to work for the original Florida Championship Wrestling, in addition to his time in The Gentry's -- touring with Dick Clark, Sonny & Cher, among other musical acts.
Mosh, Blade, & DFL then promoted the four-hour WrestleMania XXIV Countdown Special that Monday Night Mayhem will be having next Sunday, March 30th, starting at 11AM ET/10AM CT. Mosh then asked Jimmy if they were crazy for doing such a thing, but Jimmy denied that, and said The Mayhem has been running strong for six+ years and carried the torch proudly, so why not? He mentioned the Super Bowl Countdown shows that you see on television starting at 9AM in some markets, and said that wrestling fans & the WWE fans, in general, are the best fans in the world.

Mosh then ran down the list of this years WWE Hall Of Fame inductees, and asked Jimmy for his thoughts on this years "Class Of 2008." Jimmy said a day before he was officially announced on ECW this past week, that he would love to see Eddie Graham get inducted, which will not happen this upcoming Saturday night. Jimmy then started to talk about the "slow economy" that everyone has been talking about, but proves it wrong by saying that he is involved with Mardi Gras every week at Universal Studios in Orlando, movies are bringing in $42 million dollars, baseball spring training is sold out, and most importantly, the WrestleMania event drawing 65,000, with another 15-20,000 at the Hall Of Fame Ceremonies.

Mosh continued by running down the following night's WrestleMania XXIV card, and asked Jimmy for what he thinks will happen in the night's festivities. In regards to The Big Show vs Floyd "Money" Mayweather encounter, Jimmy mentioned that The Big Show match makes some sense, with the simple fact that The Big Show spent the year he was out training to be a boxer, and who knows what it could turn into in the future. Jimmy is most excited about doing the "Fan Axxess" tour that he has been doing this year, and past years as well, with Hillbilly Jim.

Being a former manager of Hulk Hogan, The Mayhem Crew had to get Jimmy's thoughts on Hulk Hogan's "promotion, turned reality-show" project with Eric Bischoff, which was originally rumored to be a new promotion to go against the WWE, but has now appeared to have turned into a celebrity wrestling-reality show. Jimmy said that while he cannot predict the future, but whatever Hulk decides to do, it always turns out well -- including his success on NBC's "American Gladiators" & VH-1's "Hogan Knows Best." Jimmy ended by saying if it does happen, he's "sure he'll watch it like everybody else."

Jimmy then talked about some of the songs he & the other guys will be performing at the WrestleMania "Rock The Block" concert (including "Eat Your Heart Out Rick Springfield," "Tutti Frutti," "Don't Go Messin With A Country Boy," & others).

Jimmy ended the interview by saying that his son returned safely from his second tour of duty in Iraq, and wished to use his time on The Mayhem by thanking all of the wrestling fans around the world for thinking about him & Jimmy's family these past few years.
