Team 3D's Brother Ray was also seen at a Make-A-Wish event John Cena was appearing at.
Low Ki aka Senshi was backstage visiting at the TNA tapings over the weekend.
Following the live Impact broadcast, TNA President Dixie Carter, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Homicide, Hernandez, AJ Styles and Jay Lethal took part in a private event set up by Midway Games to show off their upcoming TNA video game. I'll have more on the game later today. TNA will be taking part in a huge media event being put together by Midway later this month in Las Vegas.
Mandy Fuerst from Tristar Productions, the producers of the new TNA trading card series, was at TNA's tapings last week, having talent signing sticker sheets that will be used on the autographed cards for the line. I was told that the cards look really good.
TNA set up a booth with a digital video loop of TNA's stars running and staffers giving out t-shirts and postcards to fans as they headed for Wrestlemania. The booth was directly across the street from Thunder Field, where WWE had set up their final AXXESS event. WWE officials I spoke to were scoffing at TNA's small set up, saying it only underlined the differences in the sizes of the company. They were also surprised the company didn't try to do something outlandish to make a statement, such as bringing in talent or setting up a ring of their own to have matches. I personally thought it made a lot of sense to have some sort of presence at the event.
TNA went out of their way to have a huge fan friendly atmosphere during their Impact tapings over the weekend, sending out talent (who were armed with their own sharpie markers) to sign autographs and take photos around ringside. TNA also picked out fans and brought them backstage for meet and greets with the talent during the taping. Jeremy Borash, on the mic, told the crowd during the Saturday afternoon taping that TNA was happy to have anyone who called themselves wrestling fans in attendance and thanked them for supporting the business.
There were fans turned away from all three tapings at Universal Studios this weekend.
