BIG SHOOT: David Beckham has admitted to nerves about his Emporio Armani underwear photo shoot.
David Beckham’s raunchy Emporio Armani underwear campaign sent females into a frenzy, but the shy mid-fielder confided to The Tonight Show he was nervous about what his mother would think.
Beckham, 32, appeared visibly embarrassed when questioned by host Jay Leno about the campaign, which features Beckham reclining on a bed wearing only white briefs.
“Do you normally sit around the house like this?” quizzed Leno, while a camera zoomed in on a billboard of the advertisement.
A blushing Beckham replied that he was particularly nervous while shooting the campaign because he knew his mother would see it.
“When the photos first came out, she was the first one to call me and say, 'What are you doing?'
"I had to try and explain it to her and it didn’t really go down that well,” he said.
The LA Galaxy star, who lives around the corner from Leno, appeared to hit it off with the host, apologising for the constant paparazzi presence in the neighbourhood since the British footballer had moved to town with his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their children.
