The new TNA announcer Lauren was hired at the behest of SpikeTV, who want more women sprinkled among the backstage segments on Impact. I have not heard that Crystal (who does a really good job) has left the company, so it may be that they will be using more than one female. Lauren didn't have a good debut at the Lockdown PPV, so we'll see if she improves.

The announcement of where the Slammiversary PPV will be held should be made by the end of the week. The PPV will not be returning to last year's site in Nashville, TN.

In an update from Monday, Chris Nowinski was in attendance at Lockdown as a guest of Booker T, who is on the advisory board of Nowinski's Sports Legacy Institute.

The resemblance between MMA personality Frank Trigg and Kurt Angle is so similar that some fans were mistaking Trigg for Angle or a member of the Angle family at TNA's hotel after Lockdown when Trigg was in the hotel bar with Karen Angle and other TNA personalities.

There's a very good interview with TNA champion Samoa Joe up at TheStranglehold.com discussing Joe's thoughts on if the title run is coming too late, what style other than MMA influenced the match at Lockdown, and more.

Speaking of Joe, TNA will be producing a special limited edition commemorative piece in honor on his TNA title win for sale online. Don West is in charge of that project.

A number of TNA personalities will be in Las Vegas tomorrow to take part in Midway Games' Gamers Day event promoting the company's game line for the next calendar year, which of course will include this summer's TNA Impact game. Paul Jordan sent word that IGN.com has a hands on preview of TNA Impact: The Videogame ...

UWF promoter and NASCAR personality Hermie Sadler will be on Impact this Thursday commentating the X-Division championship bout. We have a complete Impact non-spoiler preview below.

TNA has released some really nice new T-shirts devoted to Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, with a huge Affliction shirt influence. TNA's merchandise in the last year has taken a huge positive leap, so whoever is responsible for that deserves major kudos.

TNA will be taping next week's Impact tonight in Orlando.
