As I first reported exclusively Monday afternoon during my PWInsider.com Elite Hotline update, World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended creative team member Michael Hayes for 60 days due to an incident that took place in Florida during the course of Wrestlemania week where Hayes allegedly made an explicitly insulting comment towards Smackdown star Mark Henry.
WWE did attempt to keep the suspension quiet, telling some who asked that Hayes was away on vacation, but word spread among the company's employees over the weekend that he was in the midst of serving a suspension from the company.
Hayes, one of the longest tenured members of the WWE creative team, had been serving as the head creative writer for the Smackdown brand with huge influence on the ECW brand as well.
