According to sources, there was a directive several months ago to get more African-American faces on WWE television. The marketing department noted a major downturn in African-American viewership since 2006. This probably explains the decision to bring back Cryme Tyme out of nowhere.

At one time, Elijah Burke was supposed to move to Raw in a trade, but writer Brian Gewirtz never came up with an idea for him, and the plan was nixed.

Triple H and Michael Hayes were instrumental in putting together the The Big Show vs. Floy Mayweather Jr. Wrestlemania match.

From Jeremy Moses: Thought you might like to know that Entertainment Tonight had a very short 15-30 second piece where they took soundbites from Barack and Hillary's statements to the fans, along with clips from the match between the "candidates". This appeared in Cincinnati on WKRC-TV.

Jim Rome cut loose yesterday on ESPN's Rome is Burning on the Presidential hopefuls appearing on Raw Monday night. Rome really dogged all three for cutting terrible wrestling promos. Rome couldn't believe they would appear on a professional wrestling shows, and wondered if they turn up next at some cockfighting event.

i watch every show on ESPN but Jim Rome is burning because he is a moron. Everyone knows that Monday night Raw is among the highest rated shows on Cable Television for the past 10 years so for him to say it was a bad idea was just ignorant and dumb itself

Characters like Cryme Tyme actually turn away African American viewers.

And it's no surprise to me that Jim Rome once again said something utterly retarded about the pro wrestling industry. RAW gets probably 100 times the viewers his shitty show does, and considering that younger voters are having greater turnouts than ever before, it was a smart decision for all three candidates to make appearances on WWE programming.

Fuck Jim Rome.
