- WWE is claiming a total of 52,000 fans attended their four-night tour of Mexico last weekend. In a press release touting the success of the tour, the company says 15,000 fans attended each of the Mexico City shows at Palacio de los Deportes, 12,000 fans attended the May 21 show in Monterrey, and 10,000 fans attended the May 22 show in Queretaro.

- U.S. Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama have responded to WWE’s “Smackdown your vote” campaign, according to a press release the company issued today. Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton responded to the campaign earlier this month.

McCain and Obama provided their political position on the War in Iraq, the economy, and technology in the Voter Issues Paper (VIP) aimed toward WWE’s target demographic of 18-30 year-olds.

“Since the 2000 Presidential election, we have seen a steady rise in the number of young adults voting in national elections,” said WWE spokesman Gary Davis. “This year, with the added attention the candidates are now giving this demographic, we expect turnout among this constituency to be even higher.”
