In case you don't know, Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer merged with Bryan Alvarez's Figure Four website last week. Meltzer will now be posting his Wrestling Observer Newsletters online from here on out every single week. He has also started posting back issues of the newsletter, starting with issues in early 1991. In the first issue he posted up, dated February 4, 1991, there are two really interesting tidbits regarding current ECW General Manager Theodore Long as well as WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan that apparently went unnoticed through the years.
The archived issue notes that in January of 1991, Theodore Long failed a drug test and was suspended for 30 days as a result by World Championship Wrestling, his employer at the time.
The archived issue also notes that in January of that year, manager Bobby Heenan was found passed out on an airplane. According to his report at the time, when airport police were instructed by doctors to check his baggage to try and find out why he was unconscious, they found 48 grams of marijuana. He was later arrested.
