- Dave Meltzer is reporting that there is a deal in place between WWE, Pro Wrestling NOAH and current NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion and former ROH Champion Takeshi Morishima. However, the latest word is that WWE is getting cold feet in the deal.
Morishima won a dark match before RAW against Charlie Haas and before ECW against Jamie Noble this week. ECW’s Tony Atlas was with Morishima at ringside during Tuesday’s tapings. The former ROH Champion was accompanied to the WWE tapings this week by a representative from NOAH and WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race. The deal is believed to be brought up by John Laurinaitis. NOAH had guidelines for the matches such as Morishima could not appear on WWE programming and could not do a job. It’s believed if WWE does end up signing Morishima, NOAH will have him drop the Global Honored Crown Heavyweight Championship. It’s also believed that WWE will have to pay NOAH some kind of payment but that’s not confirmed.
