George Michael has performed the first of his "Final Two" concerts at London's Earl's Court which mark the end of his 25 Live Tour.

The shows are a nod to his sell-out Wembley Stadium show, The Final, with Andrew Ridgeley in 1986 when he brought the curtain down on pop duo Wham!

It is understood the gigs will mark the singer's retirement from touring, as he is seeking "a quieter life".

The tour, which began in 2006, has played to more than 1.3 million fans.

"These shows are truly not to be missed by any George Michael fan," a statement on his website said.

Since he first found success with Wham! Michael has enjoyed one of the most enduring careers in the history of pop music.

He has sold over 100 million records worldwide and achieved seven US number one singles, 11 number one UK singles and six number one albums.
