- On a recent MondayNightMayhem.com interview Paul Franklin from MyNetworkTV touted the partnership with Smackdown, saying he credits the relationship to this point as being “sensational,” and that the WWE is a tremendous partner from a creative & marketing standpoint…starting at the top with Vince & Linda McMahon. He added that the loaded debut episode (featuring over 50 WWE superstars/divas) “spoke volumes” of how World Wrestling Entertainment wanted to start things off with a bang, with an immediate impact. Paul described the past few months of working as “a perfect fit,” and that the WWE “delivered” — exactly how we thought they would. “We expect nothing but the best.”

Although Smackdown’s recent rating was low by WWE standards it was the highest rating on the Network. This coupled with the fact that the network is fully behind WWE makes it a much better partnership than the CW Network, which saw WWE as its dirty little secret.

- Yet again when it seemed like WWE were signing a Mexican star, Dos Caras Jr. once again turned them down. Caras who originally turned down a deal several months back citing that he didn’t want to work the “WWE style” of wrestling, showed signs of coming round when his home promotion CMLL, showed little interest in if he went or stayed. Thus a bitter Caras said he was jumping ship. It now turns out that he’s sorted his issues with CMLL and won’t be coming to WWE, at least not right now.

WWE is currently having a major problem getting international wrestlers to sign with them, despite several new deals in Mexico and Japan. Either the star doesn’t want to learn the WWE style or the WWE doesn’t think they’ll fit in.
