I've just returned from the Smackdown!/ECW 17/10 Show in Monterrey, Mexico.
It's a very rainy day here in Monterrey but that's no excuse to watch some good wrestling because it's a sold-out show in the Arena Monterrey with 16,000 people in attendance!
So this are the results:
*Carlito & Primo Colon b. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins
I missed this match because I get late to the show thanks to the traffic. People said it was a little slow, but ok for an opener.
*Finlay b. Jack Swagger
Good pop for the Irish man. People didn't know who Jack Swagger is, but he got a lot of heat only because they knew he was the heel. Finlay won thanks to the Shillelagh
*Shelton Benjamin b. The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel Jackson & R-Truth in a Triple Threat Match to retain the U.S. Championship
Very good pop for R- Truth, all the Arena was singing with him. Benjamin won with his finisher over R-Truth to retain the title.
*Michelle McCool b. Maryse to retain the Divas Championship
Michelle got a little heat because she was wearing a local soccer team' shirt (Tigres). It's gonna be a showdown between the two soccer teams of the city this Saturday so she was booed by the other team fans (Rayados). Michelle won with her chicken-wing like finisher in a quick match.
*Matt Hardy b. Mark Henry w/ Tony Atlas to retain the ECW Championship
Nice pop for Hardy. Very good match, with Hardy retaining the title after hitting the Twist of Fate over Henry.
---Intermission---
Super Crazy b. Chavo Guerrero
Very technical match, honestly; with Super Crazy winning over Chavo with his trademark moonsault
*Jeff Hardy & The Undertaker b. Vladimir Kozlov & MVP
What a tag team!!! By far the best match of the night. HUGE pops for Hardy & Taker. Very fast-paced match with Hardy hitting the Swanton Bomb over Kozlov and Taker hitting the Tombstone Piledriver over MVP for the win. After the match, Taker spent some time in the ring for a very very huge ovation. People just love him.
*Triple H b. The Big Show to retain the WWE Championship
Our main event match. Another huge pop, this time for HHH. Another good match with very good spots, like when Triple H body slammed The Big Show!! (I've never seen that). HHH won with the Pedigrre thanks to a distraction on The Big Show courtesy of the Undertaker (People once again went nuts) to retain the WWE Championship.
In conclusion, it was a very entertaining show. I'm just amazed with how the people here in Monterrey loves the WWE. I hope you guys find this review useful. See ya later!!
