Vince McMahon Blames Chris Jericho for RAW’s Bad Ratings; Y2J’s Character Change

- You may have noticed that Chris Jericho’s character has changed a bit lately. When the RAW ratings continued to tank, Vince McMahon blamed that partly on Chris Jericho. Vince felt that Jericho was playing the character the wrong way, being hard with the fans and blaming them for everything.

Vince felt like the fans wanted a whiny heel character that always complained about losing and everything else. We can’t confirm this, but this likely played a factor in the decision to take the World Heavyweight Championship off Jericho and give it to Batista at the Cyber Sunday pay-per-view. At one point, plans had Jericho holding the World Title through December.

Vince should blame Jericho. He has never been a draw. His championship reign bombed in '00 and it bombed in '08. He simply doesn't put asses in the seats.

Let's face it, if they want a champion that'll draw ratings, they need to put the strap on Jeff Hardy or Edge when he comes back. If either of those people had the title I promise you the ratings would go up, even if it was just in there segments.

hell, mcmahon shoulda blamed y2j. but he should also blame himself. y2j's return flopped, his title run flopped. jericho is dull and lifeless and his once great mic skills have gone to nothing. he's believable as a smartass prick. he's not the least bit believable as a hardass. both y2j and the wwe made a huge mistake with the character by turning him into the type of heel he became when he was feuding with shawn michaels.
