- TVweek.com reports that WWE Smackdown has helped MyNetwork TV tighten the ratings war with the CW Network over the battle for 5th place in the network ratings. In the key demographic of adults 18-49, CW slipped from a 1.9 rating last November to a 1.0 rating this November. Meanwhile, MyNetwork is up 50% with a 0.6 overall rating in the demographic. The difference between CW and MyNetwork among 18-49 year old adults last November was a 1.5 rating. Now, the difference is only 0.4, mostly due to Smackdown switching networks.
- Four-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James tells WWE.com that she is looking forward to expand her professional career beyond World Wrestling Entertainment. “If I was to accomplish anything outside of the continuous growth of my WWE career, it would be to star in at least one movie,” Mickie said in a wwe.com Superstar 2 Superstar interview with Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls. “I have always dreamed of being a star on the big screen.” When asked about the challenges of life on the road, James says staying upbeat is difficult, especially when she’s worn out and fans want her attention. “I find it especially challenging when we come off a long tour and fly into town our fans are at the airport waiting for autographs,” she said. “We are all exhausted and can’t wait to get to our hotels.” She added, But then I think if it weren’t for their loyalty to us, we wouldn’t be who we are today. Besides, I was once one of those.”
