It has been leaked that the plan (at least for now; things change all the time) is to have the returning Christian Cage as the attacker of Jeff Hardy and to build towards a match at Wrestlemania between the pair.
Obviously things can change. Cage might back out of the deal and they may deliberately alter the direction because it has leaked online, but this is a 90% done deal.
Speaking of Cage, development worker Chris Cage was ordered to change his name, suggesting Christian will be coming in and using his TNA name. The theory here is that if he leaves WWE again he cannot use Christian Cage in TNA. However it may be that TNA does have that name copyrighted and WWE just don’t want any association between the rookie and Christian.
