Coronation Street's deceased butcher Fred Elliot is to make a return of sorts to the street when his spirit possesses a new trainee in his shop.
Digital Spy reports that Graeme Proctor played by Craig Gazey begins to speak like Elliot after he finds his old straw boater in the shop and begins to wear it.
Graeme begins to take on the repetitive speech pattern of the Elliot character and tells shop owner Ashley (Steven Arnold) that he took the hat "from that rack, I say, from that rack in the back."
A source from the programme told The Sun: "This storyline will be absolutely hilarious. The character of Graeme is proving to be one of our funniest and this will be laughs all the way."
The character of Fred Elliot played by John Savident was killed off in October 2006.
