This past Saturday at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, "The Wrestler" star Mickey Rourke was awarded the festival's the American Riviera award. As part of the Festival, Rourke took part in a discussion about his career.
When the subject of Wrestlemania XXV came up, Rourke said that he wanted to do the match but changed his mind after, "my people suggested it might not be a wise career move."
Rourke's comment provides some explanation for his appearance on CNN's Larry King Live last week where he "took the high road" by admitting he "may have put his foot in his mouth" with his comments about Chris Jericho at the SAG Awards last weekend. It appears the CNN appearance, which was designed to build the angle, instead closed it.
