A 13-year-old boy has been attacked by a group of men in the Waterside area of Londonderry.
The attack on the schoolboy took place at Aughlish Court shortly after 1930 GMT on Tuesday.
He was taken to hospital with a number of suspected fractures. Two men have been arrested.
DUP councillor Drew Thompson, who knows the family, condemned the "horrific attack" and said there was "no room in society" for such assaults.
"I thought we were behind all this," he said.
"There is no room in our society for attacks like this," said Mr Thompson.
