- Regarding Christian Cage’s return on the ECW brand last week, not many people knew about it ahead of time and when he showed up at the building that night, some talents still thought he would be coming out on SmackDown that night until he made the debut on ECW. Christian isn’t expected to stay on ECW for too long. Regardless of what Matt Hardy says in his blog, the original plan was for Christian to come in under the role that Hardy has now against Jeff Hardy. It was Vince’s idea to nix that angle and go with Matt instead but a few people in the company do not believe putting Christian on ECW is Vince’s way of trying to put him down or bury him.
- Going into this weekend there were several ideas pitched for WrestleMania 25 by members of the WWE creative teams. Over the past month or so, several ideas had been shot down and others that were brought up were being discussed. Sources note that the one thing that is always changing in WWE are creative plans and what happened at No Way Out last night is a perfect example of that.
There’s still no solid word on where they are going now after the pay-per-view last night. One could assume that Triple H is headed to RAW. WWE officials, most notably Vince McMahon himself, has wanted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to work the same storyline for over a year now and the seeds have been planted and teased for an angle like that for a while now.
It seems WWE has been focusing more lately on keeping the fans fooled and wondering than giving us the most predictable angle, which is good for the product. There’s no telling where they’re going for WrestleMania now but things are definitely interesting. Morale in WWE is great right now and several of the talents are intrigued to see what will happen next, which is also good for the product. When WWE’s writers are keeping the talents and the fans excited, they’re doing something right.
