- As noted before, the WWE Draft this year will take place on April 13th. The feeling is that the final decisions for roster moves will be made the week of WrestleMania, once plans for that show are done. The whole WWE crew will be in Houston all week long and Vince is scheduled to have extended meetings with the creative team on WrestleMania and where the show will actually lead in terms of storylines.
Most people feel it’s a lock that Triple H returns to RAW. It will be interesting to see who goes where because Draft time last year, there was a push to beef up the SmackDown roster for the move to MyNetworkTV. The show is now doing 2.0 to 2.2 ratings but still, they don’t want to weaken SmackDown too much because it’s still a separate touring brand. At the same time, they don’t want key names like John Cena or Randy Orton on a network that won’t have as many viewers come this September with MNTV’s changes. If Triple H does come back to RAW, then a top name such as Batista would have to make the jump to SmackDown.
It’s believed that Rey Mysterio may return to SmackDown. Since coming to RAW, he hasn’t moved the Hispanic numbers for RAW and while he we was on SmackDown, it was often the #1 or top 10 rated show for that demographic. Since he left SmackDown, the show has only cracked the top 10 with Hispanics once.
