Russell Brand is to return to the radio, six months after he left the BBC in disgrace following the 'Sachsgate' phone messages scandal.
The 33-year-old comedian will host a two-hour football special on talkSPORT on Sunday evening alongside Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, it has been announced.
TalkSPORT said listeners could expect "a heavy dose of cutting-edge comedy, controversial commentary and the odd eye-opening anecdote" when they tune in.
The show, which will be broadcast at 9pm on Sunday, has been billed as a one-off.
But it is understood that it may become a regular feature if it is a success.
Moz Dee, talkSPORT programme director, said: "TalkSPORT welcomes Russell back to radio.
"He's a unique talent who understands the medium brilliantly, and together with Noel Gallagher, it'll be a must listen.
"Both are proper football fans who just happen to be two of the most creative minds in popular culture."
Brand quit his Radio 2 show in October after he and Jonathan Ross left a series of crude messages on the Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs' answering machine.
The two presenters said Russell had slept with the 78-year-old actor's granddaughter, Georgina Baillie, 23, and joked that Sachs might kill himself.
Two senior Radio 2 executives also resigned in the wake of the scandal, while Jonathan Ross was suspended without pay for 12 weeks.
