Kylie Minogue has told, for the first time, how she fell to pieces after being diagnosed with cancer.
The pop princess fought back the tears as she revealed in a candid interview with British TV presenter Cat Deeley that she tried to run away after hearing the dreaded news in May last year.
She said: "The moment my doctors told me, I went silent. My mum and dad were with me. We all fell to pieces. I was saying, 'No, I'm getting a place'.
"They said, 'No you're not, sit down'."
The Spinning Around singer was told her breast cancer was in full remission in January, after she underwent months of gruelling chemotherapy treatment that caused her hair to fall out.
During the frank hour-long special, 'Kylie In Her Own Words', the Australian star emotionally thanks her family and boyfriend Olivier Martinez for their support.
She then goes on to discuss her future projects, including a children's book and a new album, and insists she is determined to complete her Showgirl' tour - which she was forced to cancel after the diagnosis.
