Namco Bandai recently revealed its partnership with the Food Network in order to bring Wii owners a realistic take on the cooking simulation genre. Kicking Mama out of the kitchen, Food Network: Cook Or Be Cooked will feature over 30 real recipes, complete with preparation instructions. In fact, you can literally cook a virtual meal in real time, from start to finish. Thankfully, an in-game timer lets you fast forward the clock so you don't actually have to wait five minutes for your water to boil. To add just a bit of "game" to the picture, Cook Or Be Cooked will rank each step of the recipe depending on how well you do.
The recipes are supposedly so accurate that, after cooking your simulation meal with the Wii motion controls, you may be able to replicate it in your own kitchen. To add to the kitchen's realism, you must also grab ingredients from the refrigerator, pull pots and pans from the cabinet, and check the pantry for dried goods.
Cook or Be Cooked is due out at the end of the year.
