EXHAUSTED LADY GAGA has been given a month off as record label bosses fear she’s about to burn out.
The double chart-topper’s ferocious work rate — added to her love of a good old tear-up — is taking its toll.
So her management have scrapped a string of commitments to give GaGa, real name Stefani Germanotta, some desperately needed time to recuperate.
The songbird has been partying hard during her current crop of American dates and alarm bells have been ringing in her inner circle.
I’m told: “Stefani has been working relentlessly since last summer.
“She has criss-crossed the globe on numerous occasions promoting her album The Fame and the pressure has now started to get to her.
“At a recent show in Atlanta she nearly collapsed on stage the day after a particularly wild night out.
“Her management have spotted the warning signs and do not want her going off the rails.
“They’ve scrapped all her commitments in August to give her time to get her head straight.”
I spoke to the New Yorker, who has hit the top of our charts with Just Dance and Poker Face, last week and she complained that she wasn’t due any time off soon.
She revealed: “I’ve been told I’m not allowed a holiday until 2010.”
But worried management have now decided to give her a breather a lot sooner. Nevertheless, she’s still got a string of shows back on these shores before she packs up her dressing-up box.
Lady G will play Glastonbury in June, a number of her own headline gigs and will also support TAKE THAT on four of their huge summer stadium concerts.
So it’s still GaGa by name and very nearly GaGa by nature.
