A new survey is hinting at possible plans for the PlayStation Portable. Joystiq reports that a new PlayStation customer survey asks questions about a possible download rental service hosted through Sony itself. Questions are asked on subscription period, price, number of rentals at a time, and details on how games should be added each month. As the report points out, this would certainly make sense to go hand-in-hand with the PSP Go! If Sony is going to start offering games to buy as downloadables, adding subscription functionality wouldn't be difficult.
Don't break out your wallets yet, though. Surveys gauge consumer interest, but don't necessarily mean it will become a reality. Recently Sony had to temper expectations after a similar survey popped up regarding God of War 3 extras. Sony reps reminded fans that marketing surveys are simply for "focus group testing" and to "find out what would resonate" with fans. For now, keep that in mind while we wait to hear more.
