It's been quite a while since we heard anything on the Afrika front. The PS3-exclusive photography sim, first announced at E3 2006, saw a release in Japan this past August but there's been no word of a release in the U.S. -- until now. IGN reports that publisher Natsume will be bringing Afrika to the United States.
Pokemon Snap is the obvious comparison, and rightfully so to some extent. Like Snap, Afrika places you behind the camera with the task of taking the best pictures possible of the African wildlife. You won't, however, be forced to travel on rails; you'll be free to roam the landscape in search of photo ops, although your degree of freedom will vary depending on which of the game's three different modes you're playing.
Details on the U.S. release are scant at the moment, but don't be surprised to hear more about Afrika at E3 next week.
