Montel Vontavious Porter was in a wrestling ring on Friday body slamming his opponent and getting put in a headlock.
On Saturday night, the World Wrestling Entertainment superstar was dancing at the prom.
Porter, better known as MVP, escorted The View's Sherri Shepherd to the prom at Hoffman Estates High School. Shepherd graduated from Hoffman Estates but never went to her prom.
"Her father was really strict," said MVP about Shepherd missing her prom. "And she didn't fit in growing up. It didn't work out."
MVP bounced around from high school to high school in Miami and didn't get the full prom experience either. The United States Champion said he happened to be in the same area where his prom took place and stopped by wearing shorts and sneakers to see what it was like.
"I showed up, saw the girls that were there and realized I made a big mistake," said MVP, whose real name is Hassan Assad. "I was like, 'I should have been here.' But I had to be a tough guy and not let anyone see that I regretted it."
MVP met Shepherd when she attended a WWE event in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They talked about how neither of them went to the prom and MVP decided they should go to her prom together.
MVP flew in from Mexico on Saturday, picked up his tuxedo, got his braids touched up and then took a limo with Shepherd to the dance. When the two entered the prom, the DJ played MVP's WWE theme song, "I'm comin" by Silkk the Shocker.
"Myself, Sherri and the graduating class of Hoffman Estates were dancing to my theme song," MVP said.
"The kids at the school were awesome. It's cool that they allowed us to share in their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
According to MVP, the highlight of the night was kissing Shepherd at the prom. But MVP claims he wasn't the one that initiated the kiss.
"She kissed me," said MVP.
