Clueless critics often dismiss World Wrestling Entertainment—WWE to discerning fans—by offering some version of the line “That’s so fake—and a panda kicked its ass!” It’s a misguided snipe, and one that hits below the belt: Maybe the World Wildlife Fund did win a trademark dispute against the professional wrestling league once known as the WWF, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less fun to paint your face, expose your beer belly, and wave a misspelled sign with thousands of other pugilistic connoisseurs. And even though the body slams might be simulated, the beer is 100-percent real (and 300-percent overpriced).
