Black Widow

Once upon a time Tommy lost his belt and dreamed of getting it back. Well, it took almost a decade but Tommy Dreamer's dream came true Sunday at "Xtreme Rules" when he was crowned ECW champ.
Dreamer is one of the original ECW guys and last won that title in June, 2000, beating Tazz. Less than a minute later, however, he lost it to Justin Credble.
Dreamer faced Jack Swagger and ECW champ Christian, and since it was "Xtreme rules," you had the compulsory equipment such as trash-can covers, a crutch and a kendo stick. All items were used to their fullest, and the match ended when Dreamer dropped Christian by whacking him in the head with the crutch and then applied the DDT (head drive to the mat) to Swagger for the pin and win. The tears flowed as Tommy displayed the belt. And you thought there was no crying in wrestling!
Last week the WWE released Mr.Kennedy (who says he may become a chef) and this week it dropped Umaga (who better to sample his food?) and Vickie Guererro.
Also released this week was Randy Savage, and no we haven't returned from a time tunnel. It was the WWE that released a three-disk, 28-match DVD "Macho Madness - the Randy Savage Ultimate Collection." For a discount, go to: www.wweshop.com.
We are saddened by the recent death of "The Golden Greek," John Tolos, 78, whose career spanned 30 years. He died of kidney failure in Los Angeles.
Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., ROH visits the Manhattan Center with Ric Flair as special referee. For info: www.rohwrestling.com.
Tomorrow, 7 p.m., WOW presents "Caged Aggression" at the Funstation USA, 3555 Victory Blvd, Staten Island For info: www.warriorsofwrestling.com.
Tickets are on sale at the Westchester County Center, White Plains for a Sunday, Aug. 2, 5 p.m. visit by "Raw."
