Rockstar New England may have recently let go of "at least 10%" of its workforce, according to a report from Kotaku. Several sources are said to have confirmed that on Monday, the entire QA department, some artists and other staff members were let go. The main reason behind the move seems to be that Rockstar wants to keep all QA in one centralized studio, instead of internal QA at each individual studio.
The severance package is being described as "fairly generous" and the company is helping some employees find new jobs. Rockstar New England used to be Mad Doc Software, but was acquired in 2008. You may know them as the studio that ported the Bully: Scholarship Edition to the Xbox 360 and PC. The studio is currently working on an unannounced title, which they recently reached a milestone for. As always, keep your fingers crossed that the former staff will land comfortably on their feet.
