If you happen to own an Xbox 360, you are currently sitting on one of the best shoot 'em ups ever made. And if, for some reason, you have yet to purchase Ikaruga, now is your big chance.
According to Major Nelson, the classic shmup is the Xbox 360's Deal of the Week, which means that its price has been sliced in half. So instead of paying 800 Microsoft Points ($10), you can have it for a mere 400 Microsoft Points.
Ikaruga was originally released for the Dreamcast in 2002, before eventually making it to the GameCube, then the Xbox 360. It is generally regarded as a classic for its smooth controls and clever mechanics -- namely, the ability to absorb black or white bullets depending on whether your ship's color matches them at the time.
We gave it an "A" in our review, calling it one of the "best overhead shooters" ever. For $5, you can certainly do worse.
