The News:Right on schedule, the demo for Madden NFL 10 has hit Xbox Live for Gold subscribers. It features a game pitting the New York Giants against the Dallas Cowboys in Giants Stadium, and comes in at a hefty 1 GB of space. Other platforms and Xbox Silver members will get to play on July 30.
Our Take:Requiring a Gold membership to access the demo already creates a gulf between the haves and the have-nots, but EA has taken an extra step with this demo. It will only last a total of eight minutes, and a separate demo featuring five minute quarters is available for those who pre-order from GameStop. This continues the somewhat confusing industry trend of giving demos to those who have already decided they want the game, but at least another option is available this time.
