Southeastern independent wrestler Damien Steele passed away Wednesday. Little is known about his passing at this time.

Steele was trained at Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling (TCW) school and began wrestling on TCW shows in 2001 before branching out to other Southeastern independent groups, including NWA Wildside and Great Championship Wrestling (GCW), formerly Georgia Championship Wrestling.

In 2005 he began wrestling for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)'s Deep South Wrestling (DSW) developmental territory, eventually earning a developmental contract in February of 2006. While in DSW he began teaming with Ray Gordy as the tag team "Ebony and Ivory", but was eventually released towards the end of 2007. Steele returned to GCW after his release and spent the last two years wrestling there.

Our condolences to the friends, family, and fans of Damien Steele.
